While I think a school based on IQ tests of very young children is stupid, I must say that this entire piece is interesting because it points out the problem of praising inherent qualities that children aren't responsible for (how they seem to perform on a standardised test) as opposed to their conscious and conscientious efforts (how they worked to achieve the score they did).

This is what I believe—who would you want hearing your whispers? Who do you trust to hear your whispers? Whose breath do you want mingled with your own? Whose flesh still warm beside you?

Helpful article on JerkCity. "Jerkcity is a daily comic strip which chronicles the adventures of Rands, Pants, Spigot and Deuce in a world of waking up late and getting high before breakfast. The residents of Jerkcity want nothing more than to drink in a corner and shout things out every once in a while."
